FIELD: tire assembly drum and assembly method.
SUBSTANCE: drum consists of a crown section and a beadlock section. The beadlock section determines the position of the beadlock. The crown section consists of crown segments that move relative to the base from a crown down position to a crown up position in the crown up direction. The crown segments together form the crown surface, leading edge and shoulder. The tire building drum also consists of a sleeve that is located around the crown segments in a circumferential manner, where the sleeve consists of a first circular lip that attaches to the crown segments from the shoulder side and faces the beadlock section, a second circular lip that is located between the shoulder and the beadlock position where the second circumferential edge is loose, at least when the crown segments are in the crown down position.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides a tire assembly drum and an assembly method, in which crown formation on tire components can be improved.
