FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to a method for the treatment of pancreatic cancer, which is difficult to treat or resistant. In this case, the method includes administration to a subject who needs it of (a) a cationic liposome composition containing one or more cationic lipids and therapeutically effective amount of paclitaxel and (b) therapeutically effective amount of gemcitabine, where pancreatic cancer, which is difficult to treat or resistant, is difficult to treat or resistant to a combination of oxaliplatin, leucovorin, irinotecan, and fluorouracil.
EFFECT: present invention provides improved and unexpected efficiency in the treatment of patients with progressing and/or metastatic pancreatic cancer having disease progression after treatment with Folfirinox (average overall survival rate is 7.5 months).
