SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to methods and apparatus for controlling the abrasive feed rate, as well as for controlling the size of the cryogenic abrasive. The particle blower includes a dosing section, a grinder and a supply section. The dosing section and the grinder can be configured to provide uniformity in the release of particles. The dosing section controls the particle feed rate and may include a rotor that may have V-shaped or chevron-shaped pockets. The chopper includes at least one roller that is movable between a position where clearance in the chopper is maximum and a position where clearance is minimum, both inclusive. The dispensing section can discharge into the supply section without the presence of a grinder. The grinder can receive particles directly from the abrasive source without a dispensing station. A method for supplying a plurality of cryogenic abrasive particles into a transport gas stream is also claimed.
