FIELD: grinding mill.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to a grinding unit for a grinding mill, a system for controlling the operation of a grinding mill with the above mentioned lining unit, and a method for determining the time to replace the above mentioned lining unit. The lining unit contains a body located inside the grinding mill and having cavities formed in a part of this body, an ultrasonic sensor located in the cavity in the body with the ability to measure changes in the depth of the body, an acoustic sensor located in the cavity in the body with the ability to generate a signal corresponding to the number of blows along the body of the material and the load during the operation of the grinding mill, and a data transmission unit located outside the grinding mill and connected to ultrasonic and acoustic sensors via wire communication and receiving data on changes in the depth of the body and on the number of blows to the body for subsequent transmission. The system for controlling the operation of the grinding mill with the above lining units contains a plurality of such lining units located inside the grinding mill in a predetermined position, a plurality of sensors and transmitters. Each lining unit contains sensors configured to monitor and provide a first signal for a wear parameter and a second signal for at least one of the following parameters: the number of material and load blows on the corresponding lining assembly during operation of the grinding mill, the intensity of these blows, and the relative position the corresponding lining unit inside the grinding mill, inside the corresponding lining unit. Each transmitter receives the outgoing first and second signals, with the transmitters transmitting the first and second signals for comparison with predetermined reference values. The method for determining the time to replace the above lining assembly consists in placing an ultrasonic sensor to measure the wear profile inside the lining assembly, while the sensor is located completely inside the cavity formed in the lining assembly, in registering the position of the lining assembly during its installation inside the grinding mill using an RFID tag , whereby the position of the sensor within the grinding mill is also known, and monitoring the ultrasonic sensor output to determine the appropriate time to replace the liner assembly based on said wear profile.

EFFECT: use of the above lining units and mills with such lining units increases the manufacturability of grinding equipment.
