FIELD: chemical industry.
SUBSTANCE: inorganic substances used for processing returnable hydrofluoric (fluoric) acid formed during processing, for example, ores and concentrates containing niobium and tantalum, or other processes in which hydrofluoric acid is formed that needs to be concentrated for reuse. A method is presented for the concentration of hydrofluoric acid, which is a waste of industrial production, by distillation to obtain water in the distillate and a bottom product in the form of hydrofluoric acid, characterized in that the distillation is carried out at a hydrogen fluoride content in the solution entering the concentration, within 1-30 wt%. at a pressure in the bottom of the column from 1.01 to 1.20 atm, an equilibrium temperature selected from the range from 113.0 to 118.5°C, and the optimal reflux ratio selected from the range 1 to 5.5.
EFFECT: method for the concentration of hydrofluoric acid, which is an industrial waste, by the distillation method with the simultaneous production of concentrated hydrofluoric acid and water of the same quality as drinking water.
