FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in chemical industry. Method of extracting hydrogen fluoride from its aqueous solutions involves reduction of water with carbon at high temperature. Pre-evaporated or sprayed mixture of hydrogen fluoride and water is brought into contact with carbon, heated to over 1,000 K, in weight ratio water: carbon from 1:0.5 to 1:2. Produced gaseous hydrogen fluoride and water vapour are condensed and rectified, anhydrous hydrogen fluoride is extracted. Azeotropic mixture is fed for recycling. Uncondensed gases are neutralised and recycled.
EFFECT: invention enables to extract hydrogen fluoride from its aqueous mixtures, including hard-to-separate azeotropic mixtures, and obtain anhydrous hydrogen fluoride and/or concentrated hydrofluoric acid.
