FIELD: magnetic powder flaw detection.
SUBSTANCE: suspension for magnetic powder flaw detection contains a liquid carrier on an aqueous or hydrocarbon basis and a ferromagnetic powder, which is used as ferromagnetic particles based on iron-containing man-made waste, having an initial degree of roundness and sphericity of at least 0.15 and processed with dispersing and/or thermochemical action, and the suspension at 20 degrees Celsius has a resulting kinematic viscosity of not more than 90 cSt (centistokes), having the following ratio, in % by weight: ferromagnetic powder - 0.05-90.0, liquid carrier - 10.0-99.95.
EFFECT: increasing the sensitivity of the ferromagnetic suspension in terms of detecting surface and subsurface defects.
