FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a technology for manufacturing polymer beads based on high molecular weight materials, in particular on the basis of polydicyclopentadiene (PDCPD). Reaction mixture is prepared based on di- or oligo-cyclopentadiene in the presence of a metathesis polymer catalyst previously dissolved in dichloromethane. Resulting reaction mixture with a velocity of 1.03–1.67 m/s is excited with vibration at a frequency of 150–300 Hz and injected into an aqueous dispersion medium. Dispersion medium contains sodium chloride, polyvinyl alcohol and water to form monomer droplets. Polymerization of monomer droplets with free ascent and a volume content of 10–20 % is carried out. Withstands at 94–96 °C for 10–30 min with the formation of granules and the desired product with a size of 0.85–1.18 mm is isolated. When injecting, use a spinneret made of metal, glass or plastic with a thickness of 0.5–1 mm with a hole diameter of 0.33–0.42 mm. As a result, the quality and yield of polymer granules based on PDCPD with a diameter of 0.85–1.18 mm is increased by reducing the content of granules with a diameter of less than 0.85 mm and more than 1.4 mm.
EFFECT: improved quality and yield of polymer granules.
