FIELD: crystals.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to creating wear-resistant functional coatings based on quasi-crystals of the Al-Cu-Fe system for protection against mechanical loads of precision engineering and power engineering products. The alloy based on the quasi-crystalline composition Al-Cu-Fe comprises (wt.%): zirconium 4.0-7.0; titanium carbide 20.0-30.0; quasicrystal Al-Cu-Fe – the rest, and the quasi-crystal Al-Cu-Fe has the following composition (wt.%): aluminium 65; copper 21.5-23.5; iron 11.0-13.5.

EFFECT: increased microhardness of the alloy coating to more than 700 HV.
