FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surgical cutting instruments and can be used for the manufacture of medical disposable blades. The method of manufacturing blades from sapphire includes cutting blanks with a thickness of 0.7 to 0.9 mm, mechanical sharpening of the cutting edges of the blades with a diamond tool in two stages with diamond grain sizes of 80/63 at the first stage and 40/28 at the second stage, high-temperature annealing of the blades in a vacuum furnace at a temperature of a resistive graphite heater above 1200°C.
EFFECT: increased strength and sharpness of the cutting edge of the blades.
