FIELD: surgical armament.
SUBSTANCE: formation of protective fluorine atom layer on cutting blade of surgical instrument comprises inserting blade into plasma reactor, plasma purification of blade, and applying gaseous carbon fluoride CnFm onto blade within plasma. Formation of protective fluorine atom layer on blade of surgical instrument comprises inserting blade into solution of fluoroaliphatic silyl ether. Cutting blade for surgical instrument is made from solid, transparent, crystalline material. Blade is therefore coated by protective fluorine atom layer.
EFFECT: diminished sticking of blood, liquid materials, and body materials to the blade when being utilized.
