FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention proposes a liquid optical medium consisting of a polyphenyl ether with six rings 6P5E (bis[m-(m-phenoxyphenoxy)phenyl]ether) and decahydronaphthalene (decalin), whereas the content of bis[m-(m-phenoxyphenoxy)phenyl]ether is 80 to less than 100 wt.%, the rest is decalin.
EFFECT: obtaining optical media with a refractive index of more than 1.515 and remaining liquid up to -26°C.
