FIELD: extracting substances from solutions using sorbents.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to extraction of toxic compounds of chromium (VI). A method for producing a composite sorbent is presented, including the treatment of montmorillonite with a solution of a surfactant, characterized in that the treatment of montmorillonite is carried out in distilled water, then with iron (II, III) chlorides, then with an alkali solution of NaOH to obtain a composite sorbent ММ:Fe3O4, a cationic surfactant is added to the resulting mixture, where dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride is used as a surfactant, at the ratio MM:Fe3O4 /cationic surfactant of 10/8, after which the sorbent is washed with three volumes of water, the solution and the precipitate are separated and the sorbent is dried at a temperature of 60°C for three hours.
EFFECT: production of a composite sorbent based on montmorillonite by method of intercalation synthesis, effective for extraction of toxic chromium (VI) compounds.
