FIELD: growing mushrooms.

SUBSTANCE: device contains a rack designed to contain blocks for keeping compost, blocks for keeping compost, which are located at an equal distance one above the other. The blocks can be moved at least between: a first position in which a second block located above the first block at least partially prevents access to the first block in a direction perpendicular to the plane in which the first block passes; and a second position in which at least a larger portion of the first block is freely accessible in a direction perpendicular to the plane in which the first block extends than in the first position. Moving between the first and second positions requires moving only the first block. The rack comprises at least one portal frame, the portal frame comprising at least two substantially vertical posts connected by at least one beam that extends from the first post to the second post. At least two blocks are movably supported by at least one beam. The method for collecting mushrooms from a rack includes the step of moving at least a part of said rack between at least a first position, in which the second block, located above the first block, at least partially prevents access to the first block in a direction perpendicular to the plane in which the first block is located, and a second position in which at least a greater part of the first block has free access in a direction perpendicular to the plane in which the first block passes than in the first position.

EFFECT: inventions provide simplification of mushroom picking, lighter and smaller design, increased stability.
