SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to aqueous herbicidal compositions. The aqueous herbicidal composition contains as active ingredients (a) from about 1 to about 25 weight percent, based on the acid equivalent (wt.% ae) of the water-soluble glufosinate salt, (b) from about 1 to about 25 wt.% ae of a water-soluble salt of the synthetic auxin herbicide; and (c) about 1 to about 25 weight percent (wt.%) of a surfactant. The synthetic auxin herbicide is selected from the group consisting of 2,4-D, aminopyralid, clopyralid, dicamba, fluroxypyr, MCPA, MCPB, mecoprop, mecoprop-P, triclopyr, and combinations thereof. The water-soluble glufosinate salt and the water-soluble salt of the synthetic auxin herbicide are independently prepared by neutralizing glufosinate in the acid form or the synthetic auxin herbicide in the acid form with a cation selected from the group consisting of Li+, Na+ and a quaternary organic ammonium cation, or an organic amine compound.
EFFECT: present aqueous herbicidal composition exhibits a viscosity reduction from about 40% to about 90% at 15 to 25°C, compared with a similar composition where the synthetic auxin herbicide salt is omitted, exhibits good compatibility, improved physical properties and stability.
