SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for sorting round wood and can be used in sorting tree trunks by species. Tachogenerators are used as sensors of angular displacements of the driving and driven sprockets of the closed lamellar chain of the longitudinal sorting conveyor. The shaft of the first tachogenerator is mechanically connected to the shaft of the leading polyhedral sprocket. The shaft of the second tachogenerator is mechanically connected to the shaft of the driven multi-faceted sprocket. The outputs of the first and second tachogenerators are connected to an adder, to which an averaging amplifier, a scaling amplifier are connected in series, the output of which is connected to the input of an information electric drive, on the shaft of which a photopulse angular position sensor is installed, the output of which is connected to the first input of the sorting unit, the second input of which is connected to the operator control panel output. The outputs of the sorting unit are connected to the inputs of the command devices of the droppers. The output of the photogate is connected to the input of the control panel.

EFFECT: reduced error in tracking the movement of round wood to the appropriate storage pile.
