METHOD FOR SEALING A HOLE IN A SHIP'S HULL WITH AN ELECTRIFIED PATCH Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC B63B43/16

Abstract RU 2796114 C1

FIELD: rescue operations on board of a vessel.

SUBSTANCE: method for sealing a hole in the ship's hull with an electrified patch is proposed, which consists of applying and fixing the patch without using keel ends on the hole with torn edges bent outward by placing the patch on the hole with its simultaneous removal from the ship's side to a distance exceeding the height of the outwardly bent torn edges of the hole, followed by pressing the patch to the hole and fixing it at the installation area, a tube with holes in its wall is used as a stiffening rib for the lower edge of the patch, ensuring that its cavity is filled with water for the tube to acquire negative buoyancy after a certain time, along the ends of the tube electric motors of the paddle wheel drive are installed, which initially ensure the removal of the lower part of the patch from the hole, and then bring the lower part of the patch to the ship’s hull, followed by pressing the magnetic field of the electric motors to the ship’s hull, the corresponding parts of the clamps for fixing the patch on the hole along the contour of the hole, indicated by the flexible LED tube, the patch is tightly fixed on the hole by being pressed against the body with the wing screws of said clamp.

EFFECT: proposed method has high reliability and efficiency when sealing a hole in the ship's hull.
