FIELD: liquefaction of natural gas.

SUBSTANCE: device and method for three-cycle liquefaction of natural gas suitable for ultra-large scale. Device is comprised of natural gas liquefaction pipeline, a propane pre-cooling cycle system, a warm mixed refrigerant (WMR) refrigeration cycle system, and a cold mixed refrigerant (CMR) refrigeration cycle system. This device is based on three cycles to distribute the cooling load of each stage. The natural gas is cooled by one finned plate heat exchanger and two coil type heat exchangers in series until the natural gas is liquefied and subcooled. The cooling capacity required for the liquefaction process is provided by three systems, i.e., propane, WMR mixed refrigerant and CMR mixed refrigerant.

EFFECT: simplification of technology and reduction of energy costs.
