FIELD: water transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of water transport. A method is proposed to reduce the friction resistance of the vessel shell plating, according to which three identical compressed air supply systems separate from each other supply air under pressure to through holes made in the shell plating of the foreship underwater part, each of which has one or more screw-type compressors with synchronous frequency-controlled drive of each of them based on a three-phase synchronous electric motor with excitation from permanent rare-earth magnets and a semiconductor frequency converter, and one or more distribution systems of sealed air ducts. With the help of the first mentioned system, air compressed under pressure automatically regulated in the function of the speed of the vessel and its draft is supplied to the through holes of the foreship underwater shell plating, and with the help of the second and third mentioned systems, air compressed under pressure is similarly supplied to the through holes of the foreship underwater shell plating and to the through holes of the bottom underwater shell plating accordingly, thus providing a stable air layer over the entire speed range of the vessel and over the entire scale of its draft.
EFFECT: friction resistance of the vessel shell plating is reduced.
