SUBSTANCE: group of inventions can be used to treat a herniated disc. A method for treating a herniated disc involves injecting 1–3 units of chondroitinase ABC in a single dose into an intervertebral disc of a human patient in which a nucleus pulposus and a herniated disc are present. A variant of the said method of treatment is also proposed, including the injection of 1.25 units of chondroitinase ABC in a single dose into the intervertebral disc of the lumbar spine of a human patient, in which the nucleus pulposus and herniated disc are present, and chondroitinase ABC is contained in a lyophilized composition.
EFFECT: group of inventions provides the maximum therapeutic effect with minimal adverse side effects, allows to achieve a long-term pain relief effect when administered only in a single dose.
