FIELD: carbonate ester production.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for producing a carbonate ester, which includes the step of allowing monohydric alcohol and carbon dioxide to interact with each other in the presence of a catalytic structure and a hydration agent to form a carbonate ester. While the catalytic structure contains the base material and the catalytic layer formed on at least part of the surface of the base material, and containing a solid catalyst and an inorganic binder; the solid catalyst contains cerium oxide; the amount of solid catalyst based is from 15 to 200 g/m2; and the inorganic binder contains silicon dioxide and/or alumina. The invention also relates to a catalytic structure, a device for producing an ester, as well as a method for producing a carbonate ester.

EFFECT: catalyst used allows a highly efficient carbonate ester production reaction to be carried out for a long time.
