FIELD: organic chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to a method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound, which is 2-cyanopyridine, 3-cyanopyridine or 4-cyanopyridine. The method involves contacting an amide compound of 2-picolinamide, 3-picolinamide or 4-picolinamide with an alkali metal catalyst in a gas phase in a dehydration reaction. The group of inventions is also related to a method for producing a carbonate ester, containing the first stage, including production of a carbonate ester and water by reaction of an alcohol with carbon dioxide in presence of an aromatic nitrile compound, and hydration of an aromatic nitrile compound with the resulting water to form an aromatic amide compound; and a second step of separating the aromatic amide compound from the reaction system of the first step and then regenerating the aromatic amide compound to obtain an aromatic nitrile compound through the dehydration process specified above. In this case, at least part of the aromatic nitrile compound regenerated in the second stage of the reaction is used in the first stage of the reaction.

EFFECT: improvement in the method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound by reducing the reaction steps and increasing the dehydration rate to reduce the duration of the process. Additionally, the present invention implements a method for efficiently producing a carbonate ester by using the above-mentioned method for producing an aromatic nitrile compound.
