FIELD: cell biology; medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates in particular to a method for obtaining a population of cells derived from skeletal muscle (SMDCs), and to a population of SMDCs obtained in this way. To implement this method, the sample obtained from skeletal muscle tissue is first cooled in buffer. Then it is processed by subsequent cooling of the sample, and the cooling is performed at a temperature of 1–16°C for a period of time of 2–48 hours. Next, the sample is resuspended in serum medium containing at least one enzyme and heated to 25–38°C for 1–20 hours, precipitate the sample by centrifugation. Thereafter, the sample pellet is resuspended to obtain a single cell suspension from the sample, thereby obtaining a population of SMDCs. The resulting cell population of SMDCs has myogenic activity and fusion competence, and also contains at least 90% of CD56 positive, 90% of A2B5 positive, 90% of CD105 positive, and 90% of desmin positive cells.

EFFECT: invention allows to expand the arsenal of methods for obtaining SMDCs populations that can be used to prevent or treat neuromyopathies or myopathies, in particular urinary or anal incontinence, fecal incontinence.
