SELF-ASCENDING PORTABLE BOTTOM SEISMIC STATION NOT REQUIRING LEAVING THE LOAD ON THE SEA BOTTOM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01V1/38

Abstract RU 2796944 C1

FIELD: geophysics.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the evaluation of the seismic state of areas, monitoring in transit zones and on a shelf, geological and geophysical studies of offshore hydrocarbon fields. A self-ascending portable bottom seismic station not requiring leaving a load on the sea bottom is claimed, which consists of a sealed cylindrical body with a top cover on which a hydrophone is externally installed, as well as a geophone unit, a digital compass, a power supply unit and a four-channel seismic recorder board placed inside the sealed case, and a GPS/GLONASS receiver. The four-channel seismic recorder board is made with the possibility of receiving, registering, converting and storing the registered seismic/acoustic signals and is connected via multiplex communication channels with the geophone unit and the hydrophone with the possibility of receiving, processing and recording seismic vibrations in four components in directions X Y, Z from the geophone block and H from the hydrophone. The recorder board contains a multifunctional chip, and its memory unit is made in form of a non-volatile flash memory, the interface board is connected to the power supply unit. Moreover, the seismic station additionally contains an ascent unit, an electromagnetic valve, a hydroacoustic modem and a peripheral device board. The ascent unit consists of a high-pressure compressed air cylinder fixed in a holding frame, a buoyancy compensator with an overpressure relief valve installed in it, an air reducer and two external sealed air lines. The recorder board contains a non-volatile memory slot and a wireless USB receiver, and the peripheral board consists of a magnetic reed switch, four LEDs, a high-precision quartz clock, an accelerometer, pressure and temperature sensors, a radio board, a digital magnetic compass and a GPS/GLONASS receiver. The interface board consists of a power converter module. The hermetically sealed case is made radio-transparent with an upper optically transparent flat acrylic cover and a lower flat aluminum cover, to which the frame of the ascent block is attached by means of screws. The power supply consists of four 18650 batteries and is electrically connected to the recorder board. The hydroacoustic modem is externally mounted on the top cover of the sealed housing. The seismic hydrophone is low-frequency, the geophone block is made in form of orthogonally fixed low-frequency geophones along the X, Y, Z axes in a gimbal suspension with the ability to compensate for the inclination of the horizontal suspension plane up to ±90 degrees in both directions of the roll and pitch planes.

EFFECT: improving the operational characteristics of a seismic bottom station, increasing the speed of carrying out a bottom seismic survey, improving the quality of the seismic data obtained, simplifying the mobilization during the preparation of a survey.
