FIELD: silicon production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of silicon by reduction melting of silica-containing materials in ore-thermal furnaces. Proposed briquetted mixture containing (wt.%): microsilica - gas cleaning dust of silicon production 58-60; coke dust 40-42. As a binder for briquetting, an aqueous solution of carboxymethyl cellulose is used in an amount of 6-8% by weight of the mixture of charge materials.
EFFECT: increased strength of the proposed briquetted charge material - not less than 420 kg per briquette, not less than 10 MPa, the density of the briquette is 1.595 g/cm3.
