FIELD: hydrocarbon fuels.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to additives for hydrocarbon fuels and solvents. A method is proposed for producing an antistatic additive for hydrocarbon fuels and solvents by reacting carboxylic acids saponified with sodium hydroxide with chromium salts at 40-50°C and a molar ratio of 2:1.00-1.03 in an isopropanol medium, adding an alkylaromatic hydrocarbon solvent of a fraction of 160-200°C, separation of sodium salts, and conducting heat treatment in an alkylaromatic hydrocarbon solvent medium, characterized in that the heat treatment is carried out at a temperature of 80-110°C for 0.75-1 hour, adding an organic chelating agent with pKa = 8-14.8 in a molar ratio of 1:1.00-1.03 and continue heat treatment at 100-130°C for 0.5-1 hour.

EFFECT: obtaining an antistatic additive providing an increase in the electrical conductivity of hydrocarbon fuels and solvents.
