FIELD: hydrocarbon fuel technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of hydrocarbon fuel additives providing increase in conductivity of the latter. Method of preparing antistatic hydrocarbon fuel additives containing mixture of (i) copolymers of higher alcohol alkylmethacrylates with 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine and (ii) complexing chromic salt of organic acids in hydrocarbon solvent consists in that additive is prepared via radical copolymerization of C7-C12-alcohol kylmethacrylates with 2-methyl-5-vinylpyridine in hydrocarbon solvent for 3-10 h at 75-95°C simultaneously with complex formation with C10-C24-organic acid chromic salt. Initial components are added simultaneously to solvent at following ratios: higher alcohol alkylmethacrylates to methylvinylpyridine (60-90):(10-40) and organic acid chromic salt to methylvinylpyridine (5-27):(7-:40). Antistatic hydrocarbon fuel additive containing above-indicated copolymer/chromic salt mixture dissolved in organic solvent is further described, which is composed of, wt %: C7-C12-alcohol akylmethacrylates 10-30, methylvinylpyridine 1.0-40.0, C10-C24-organic acid chromic salt 1.0-20.0, radical initiator 1.4-1.6, and hydrocarbon solvent - the balance. Additive is about twice as electrically conductive as known additive and reduces corrosion of steel and bronze by a factors of 1.5-5 and 2, respectively.

EFFECT: improved performance characteristics of additives.
