FIELD: ecology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in the study of shrubs and subshrubs in the highlands. The method includes selection of a trial plot, on which a model bush is determined, and samples are taken from the model bush. For sampling, vertically oriented lateral branches are selected from the model bush, and wood samples are cut at the ends of vertically oriented lateral branches. Each wood sample is a cylinder no more than 1 cm long and no more than 5 mm in diameter in cuts, and wood samples are taken from the beginning to the end of the growing season, once every 5 days.
EFFECT: increased accuracy of determining the number of formed cells.
