FIELD: aircraft engineering.
SUBSTANCE: infrared protection of an aircraft (hereinafter referred to as IR protection), designed to protect military aircraft (hereinafter A/C) from a variety of SAM-type missiles, as well as camouflage from SAM gunners and anti-aircraft guns during the flight of a low-flying A/C. A turbofan engine containing infrared protection of an aircraft installed in a military A/C, for example, in a fighter, bomber or transport aircraft, while liquid is supplied to the nozzles of the afterburner combustion chamber (ACC) of the turbofan engine, and the liquid from the liquid tank is pumped through pipelines by the liquid pump through the liquid valve and a tee to the fuel line after closing the ACC valve. The ACC injectors fixed on the stabilizer of the ACC turbofan engine spray liquid, which creates a cloud plume behind the A/C from a mixture of water vapor with carbon dioxide (CO2), and the liquid evaporating in the ACC reduces the temperature of the gas flow in the exhaust nozzle and the temperature of the exhaust nozzle flaps with a controlled thrust vector. As a liquid, distilled water is poured into the liquid tank, and to achieve IR masking by a cloud plume, an aircraft flight time of no more than 0.2 seconds is sufficient. Additives are added to the liquid, including antifreezes, for example, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerin, methanol. The liquid valve opening value is adjusted automatically and/or by the A/C crew, taking into account the A/C speed, flight altitude, atmospheric temperature, as well as the distance to the infrared missile or anti-aircraft gun. For filling and storing liquid, an external tank is used, for example, an external fuel tank, which is fixed on the outer side of the fuselage or under the wing of the A/C, and the standard fuel line from the external tank is switched inside the fuselage from the fuel pump to the liquid pump.
EFFECT: increase in the infrared protection of the aircraft.
