SUBSTANCE: invention relates to bunkers and methods for unloading bulk materials. The bunker for unloading bulk material from a dump truck consists of a main bunker and walls hinged on three sides. The walls are able to rotate and are interconnected by inserts made of flexible material. The material prevents spills between the walls. The method for unloading bulk material from a dump truck includes driving the dump truck in reverse to the bunker from the side without a wall. Further, the material is unloaded into the main hopper and onto the platform formed by the walls pivotally attached to the main hopper. The volume of the unloaded material is increased until the weight of the unloaded material established by experience is reached. After that, the car body is lifted and, as the main bunker is emptied, the walls are lifted. When the material level in the hopper reaches the level of the main hopper, the walls are raised. Continue this until the car is completely unloaded.

EFFECT: increased productivity of unloading.
