FIELD: analytical chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the analysis of gaseous medical impurities contained in oxygen: water vapor, carbon monoxide and dioxide, nitrogen and methane. The method of qualitative and quantitative analysis of oxygen and its impurities in medical gaseous oxygen includes taking a sample for analysis, analyzing impurities contained in medical gaseous oxygen using a portable gas chromatograph, calculating the content of components by the external standard method or by the absolute calibration method for all impurities, using the areas of chromatographic peaks, followed by the determination of the quantitative content of oxygen in volume percent (Xo) according to the following formula:

where Xn is the concentration of impurities in the test sample in % obtained by gas chromatography. A gas chromatograph with three independent channels is used as a portable gas chromatograph, where the first channel includes a thermochemical microdetector and a planar microfluidic chromatographic column with an adsorbent — carbon molecular sieves with a specific surface area of 1,200 m2/g and air as a carrier gas; the second channel includes a thermal conductivity microdetector and a planar microfluidic chromatographic column with an adsorbent — a copolymer of divinylbenzene and vinylpyrrolidone and helium as a carrier gas; the third channel includes a thermal conductivity microdetector and a planar microfluidic chromatographic column with an adsorbent of molecular sieves — zeolites (NaX) and helium as a carrier gas, and sample chromatography is carried out simultaneously through three channels of the chromatograph.
