FIELD: industrial aerodynamics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for aerodynamic testing of aviation and rocketry. The unit comprises a test chamber with a supply pipeline, an exhaust diffuser and tools for measuring the parameters of the operating medium, an air pressure source with a pressure line, an air pre-heater connected to the pressure line, and an adjustable flow-type electric heater connected to a power supply source and an automatic control system connected to the air preheater by its inlet and to the inlet pipeline of the test chamber with a flow controller by its outlet. The unit has a buffer tank installed in the supply pipeline of the test chamber and a heated air receiver, an adjustable electric heater is at least three-sectioned, each section of which is an inlet and outlet receiver and a set of tubes made of heat-resistant conductive material with terminals for connecting to a source power supply connected to the input and output receivers, and replaceable critical nozzles installed between the tubes and the input receiver connected to the pressure line through an on-off switch. The air preheater is made as a counterflow recuperative heat exchanger with inlet and outlet manifolds and a coolant cavity connected to the exhaust diffuser of the test chamber; a recuperative heat exchanger, the inlet manifold of which is connected to the pressure line through a controlled valve and an additional flow controller, and the outlet receiver of each section of the adjustable electric heater is connected to the buffer tank through a shut-off valve and to the heated air receiver through an additional shut-off valve and a three-position switch.
EFFECT: expanding the functionality of the unit.
