MIXING SYSTEM FOR FIRE EXTINGUISHING INSTALLATIONS AND METHOD OF OPERATION OF SUCH MIXING SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A62C5/02 B01F35/83 B01F23/451

Abstract RU 2798254 C1

FIELD: mixing systems; firefighting.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to an admixing system for fire extinguishing installations for creating a mixture of an extinguishing agent and an additive to an extinguishing agent by mixing said additive with said extinguishing agent, as well as to a method for operating such an admixing system. At the same time, said system (1) has an engine (2) driven by the flow of the extinguishing agent, a mixing pump (6) connected to this engine for pumping the additive to the extinguishing agent, an admixing pipeline (10) and a pipeline (13) of the additive to the extinguishing agent, from which the extinguishing agent additive is mixed with the extinguishing agent in the mixing pipeline (10). Further, the mixing system (1) has a branch line (17) from which some part of the extinguishing agent flow can be branched off, in case the user in the fire extinguishing installation needs only a small extinguishing agent flow. As a result, the flow of the extinguishing agent flowing through the engine (2) is artificially increased so that the engine (2) operates in a higher speed range where reliable engine operation is ensured (so-called start-up flow reduction). According to the invention, the admixing system (1) also has an engine tachometer (22) and a control, this control being intended to fully or partially open and/or close the branch valve (21) depending on the engine rotation frequency measured by the engine tachometer (22).

EFFECT: flow of the extinguishing agent flowing through the engine is artificially increased so that the engine operates in a higher speed range where reliable engine operation is ensured.
