POLYALKYL(METH)ACRYLATES DESIGNED TO IMPROVE FUEL ECONOMY, DISPERSANT AND REDUCE DEPOSITS Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC C08F265/06 C08F290/04 C08F220/18 C10M145/14 C10N30/02 C10N30/04

Abstract RU 2798848 C2

FIELD: polymers.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to novel polyalkyl(meth)acrylates, lubricating compositions containing such polyalkyl(meth)acrylates. Described are polymers based on polyalkyl(meth)acrylates containing the following monomers: (a) from 10 to 25 wt.% esters of (meth)acrylic acid with hydroxylated hydrogenated polybutadiene having a number average molecular weight Mn equal to from 4000 to 6000 g/ mol and the degree of hydrogenation of at least 99%; (b) from 45 to 60 wt.% C1-C4 -alkyl(meth)acrylates; (c) 10 to 15% by weight of styrene; (d) from 15 to 30 wt.% C10-C3 -alkyl(meth)acrylates, preferably C10-C15-alkyl methacrylates, more preferably C12-C14-alkyl methacrylates; and (e) from 3 to 7 wt.% N-containing monomers selected from the group consisting of the following: N,N-dimethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA), N-(3-(dimethylamino)propyl)methacrylamide (DMAPMA) and N-vinylpyrrolidinone (NVP), preferably DMAEMA, with a weight average molecular weight ranging from 200,000 to 700,000 g/mol. Also described is an engine oil additive composition containing: (A) 60 to 80% by weight of a base oil; and (B) 20 to 40% by weight of the polyalkyl(meth)acrylate polymer as defined above. A lubricating oil composition is described, which is a motor oil containing: (A) from 80 to 99.5 wt.% base oil; (B) 0.5 to 5% by weight of the polyalkyl(meth)acrylate comb polymer as defined above; and (C) 0 to 15% by weight of one or more additional additives. Describes the use of a polymer based on the above polyalkyl(meth)acrylate in the above composition of lubricating oil to improve fuel economy, dispersion capacity and reduce the amount of deposits formed. A method is described for reducing the amount of deposits formed when using the above lubricating oil composition, carried out by adding a polymer based on the above polyalkyl (meth) acrylate.

EFFECT: production of additives that improve the viscosity index, good fuel economy, and also have a dispersing ability for soot and reduce the amount of deposits formed.
