FIELD: measuring devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to a lidar system adapted for anemometric measurements, as well as to measurement methods using such a system. The lidar system is configured to perform anemometric measurements related to the focal area (ZF) of the laser beam (F) emitted by the system. The system comprises a laser beam time control device (40) configured to form said laser beam in the form of successive laser pulses in such a way that each laser pulse has an individual duration greater than or equal to twice the Rayleigh length (lR) divided by the propagation velocity of the laser pulses in the atmosphere, and no less than 20 mcs.

EFFECT: lidar system makes it possible to obtain high values for the spectral CNR.
