FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used in discrete information transmission systems to determine the signal-to-noise ratio. The method for measuring the signal-to-noise ratio of signals with angular manipulation consists in the fact that the received signal is converted into digital form by an analogue-to-digital converter and the obtained digital readings are transmitted to the amplitude calculation unit, the current value of the amplitude of the symbol is transmitted into the delay unit for one symbol and into the functional converter, which is also transmitted with the amplitude value of the previous -th symbol from the delay unit, then in the functional converter the logarithm of the ratio of the amplitudes of the current and previous symbols is calculated, and the obtained values are transmitted to the variance calculator, which form the variance estimate of these values for N symbols, the variance values are transmitted to the result generator, which performs the inverse transformation .
EFFECT: determination of the signal-to-noise ratio in an operating communication channel without changing the stream of transmitted data and additional test signals, reducing the complexity of computational operations.
