FIELD: computer technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to operational remote monitoring of natural areas and monitoring of biodiversity, namely to means for searching, detecting and classifying animals using two-stage neural network processing of data obtained using camera traps, with the possibility of additional training for the species diversity of the reserve. The system for operational remote monitoring of natural areas comprises a server subsystem, including a base of common labelled data, a detector training module and a classifier training module; a user subsystem, including a database of local labelled data, a classifier retraining/further training module, a detection unit, a classification unit, an input image stream input unit, a results output unit.
EFFECT: expansion of functionality for operational remote monitoring of natural areas through the use of two-stage neural network processing of data received from camera traps.
