FIELD: personal hygiene items.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device used for personal hygiene, and is a brush with adjustable hardness. A brush with adjustable hardness contains a bristle holder with bristles and an additional holder with projections. Moreover, the distance between the additional holder and the holder of the bristles is variable, as a result of which a decrease in this distance leads to the insertion of the protrusions through the holder of the bristles. In an alternative embodiment, decreasing the distance results in the insertion of protrusions between the bristles. The controllable brush may further comprise an actuator for changing the distance and a control unit for controlling the actuator in response to the sensor output. The sensor may be configured to measure the force acting on the brush. Alternatively, the sensor may be a smartphone camera.

EFFECT: invention allows, by adjusting the stiffness of the brush bristles, to eliminate injury to the surface with which the bristles come into contact as a result of using the brush.
