SUBSTANCE: invention is intended for sealing the rotor relative to the stator in gas turbine engines and can be used both in mechanical engineering, aircraft engine building, and in other fields of technology. The brush seal of the turbomachine rotor is made in the form of a package of annular wire brush placed between the pressing and supporting cheeks of the housing. It is equipped with an annular element that contacts simultaneously with the wire ends of the brush and the surface of the rotor shaft. The annular contact element is made detachable in the form of a strip of flexible material configured for clearance-free coverage of the rotor shaft. The ends of the annular contact element are made in the form of a comb and configured for movable contact with each other. The contact strip is perforated, with a means for attaching to the brush housing or package. The contact strip is made of a material with antifriction properties. A wear-resistant coating is applied to one of the surfaces of the contact strip.
EFFECT: maximum increase in the sealing effect of the brush seal.
