FIELD: military.

SUBSTANCE: first, the dimensions of the air cushion formation area above the site are determined using the parameters of the main rotor of the helicopter. The air cushion formation area is divided into sections. Aerosol cassettes (AC) are installed on the helicopter, which ensure the formation of a circular extended aerosol screen (AS) for a given time relative to the centre of the site. Each AC is directed towards the centre of the area of the air cushion formation area. Fly the helicopter to the site. Identify the current sector of threat to the helicopter, as well as the required lifetime of the AS. Measure the current elevation of the helicopter above the site. Upon reaching the elevation, an extended AS is set by selecting and simultaneously firing the ACs. The ACs shall be directed towards the centre of the area of the air cushion formation area.

EFFECT: improved efficiency of the helicopter when hovering-landing on the underlying surface.
