SUBSTANCE: open headphone comprises a structure configured to place the headphone near the user's ear without blocking the user's external ear canal; a first group of microphones configured to receive ambient noise; a signal processor configured to: determine a transfer function of a primary path between the first microphone array and the user's ear canal based on ambient noise; estimating a noise signal in the user's ear canal based on the ambient noise and the transfer function of the primary route; generating a noise reduction signal based on the noise signal in the user's ear canal; and a speaker configured to output the noise cancelling acoustic wave in accordance with the noise cancelling signal, the noise cancelling acoustic wave configured to cancel the noise signal in the user's ear canal.
EFFECT: increase in the efficiency of the noise suppression.
