FIELD: drawn pipes.
SUBSTANCE: during the drawing process, the drawn pipe is subjected to compression before the floating mandrel. The pipe wall is thinned by expansion of the pipe at the back section of the mandrel and pressing the front section of the mandrel by the expansion force into the wall of the drawn pipe at the inlet section of the drawing die. The inner diameter of the pipe before the mandrel in the process of drawing to achieve a given thinning of the pipe wall is determined by the formula dbefore=Dfm(3.1tn-Δt)/3.1tin, where Dop is the diameter of the floating mandrel, mm,Δt, tin - specified thinning and initial thickness of the pipe wall, mm.
EFFECT: improvements in steadiness, stability and productivity of the pipe drawing process.
