FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to aircraft structures adapted to extinguish fires. The aircraft has a water intake device (2), comprising a water intake unit (7), which is connected to the water tank (10) through a retractable tubular element (5). The water intake unit is provided with an inlet (20) which is fluidly connected to the retractable tubular member and is located on the side of the water intake unit facing away from the sky when the water intake device is in the active state. The water intake unit is provided with a plurality of hydrofoils (25, 26, 27, 28) crossing the water surface, located around the inlet and configured to create an upward force when moving through the reservoir, in order to position the water intake unit relative to the surface (9) of the reservoir in such a way that to allow water to be drawn in through the inlet.
EFFECT: vertical stability for the float or water tray when it is in contact with the body of water.
