FIELD: inorganic synthesis of compounds.
SUBSTANCE: method is proposed for obtaining rare-earth zirconates of the composition R2Zr2O7, in which R is La, Dy, Sm, Gd, by mixing a zirconium compound with an aqueous solution of a salt of a rare earth element, taken in a stoichiometric ratio corresponding to the composition R2Zr2O7, in which R is La, Dy, Sm, Gd, followed by heat treatment of the suspension and calcination of the product. Amorphous zirconium hydroxide powder is used as a zirconium compound, and an aqueous solution of rare earth acetate is used as a salt solution of a rare earth element. The resulting suspension is evaporated to dryness at a temperature of 120°C, and the evaporation product is calcined at a temperature of 800-900°C within 3-4 hours.
EFFECT: reduction in the synthesis temperature by 100-200°C and duration of 1-2 hours of the process of obtaining zirconates of rare earth elements with the formula of R2Zr2O7, where R is La, Dy, Sm, Gd.
