FIELD: railway automation.

SUBSTANCE: claimed invention serves to diagnose the technical condition of the elements of the switch assembly. The device comprises two electromagnetic sensors located on the brackets under the soles of the wits. The signals from the sensors are recorded in the memory of the data processing microcontroller for two positions of the switch blades: a snug fit of the pressed switch blade to the frame rail and wringing the switch blade no more than 4 mm. The controller of the device compares the levels of signals from the sensors with the levels of signals recorded in the memory and, if the real signals match or exceed those recorded in the memory, it issues a signal about the pre-failure state of the switch to the diagnostic systems of railway automatics.

EFFECT: safety of train traffic is increased due to continuous monitoring of the actual position of the switch blades.
