METHOD OF ASSESSING THE ADAPTIVE CAPABILITIES OF CHILDREN TO THE IMPACT OF EDUCATIONAL WORKLOAD Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC A61B5/02

Abstract RU 2801608 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the hygiene of children and adolescents, and can be used to diagnose the level of adaptive capacity to the effects of educational workload in schoolchildren. The following parameters are measured in a child at rest: systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate. Then an examination of heart rate variability is conducted and the index of centralization is calculated. Next, the child is examined according to Ch.D. Spielberger — Yu.L. Khanin Questionnaire and the level of reactive anxiety is determined in points. The formula calculates the integral indicator of adaptive capabilities (AB).

When the value of AB is less than 58.9 relative units (r.u.) adaptive capabilities are low under the influence of analytic-synthetic load and there is possible risk of developing functional disorders of the cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system. With the value of AB in the range of 58.9–63.0 r.u. adaptive capabilities are evaluated as optimal. With the value of AB of 63.1 r.u. and more a conclusion is made about the inertness of the nervous processes with sufficient adaptive capabilities.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to determine the adaptive capabilities of children under the influence of educational workload, to substantiate measures for primary and secondary prevention of disorders of the cardiovascular and autonomic nervous system in children, and also to identify children with delayed perception of educational material by assessing the complex of the most significant indicators.
