FIELD: petroleum engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum engineering and in particular to the construction of vertical tanks equipped with floating roofs. The floating roof of the storage tank for light hydrocarbons includes an annular pontoon with a diaphragm, with supporting posts evenly placed in their lower parts. On top of the floating roof, vertical arcuate plates are axially symmetrically fixed. The support legs of the peripheral row are equipped with vertically mounted fins - hydrodynamic brakes, the braking force of which is equal to or exceeds the untwisting effect of the wind load on the vertical arcuate plates of the floating roof.
EFFECT: increasing the operational reliability of the floating roof by ensuring the design (in terms of) position of the floating roof in the tank, by reducing the likelihood of its rotation due to the action of the wind flow.
