SUBSTANCE: production of thin-walled steel and titanium pipelines using a titanium - stainless steel adapter. A stainless steel tubular piece is placed inside a titanium alloy tubular piece to form a process gap. They are connected to prevent mutual movement in the axial direction and placed in a container. The pumping out of air in the container is combined with the heating of the tubular parts to the temperature at which the titanium alloy recrystallizes. The parts are kept at a given temperature until the technological gap is blocked along the edges of the contact surface of the tubular parts by oxide films formed on the surface of the titanium alloy. The container is filled with an excess pressure of inert gas, the tubular parts are heated and kept at the temperature of diffusion welding. The welded joint is obtained both due to the difference in deformations during the thermal expansion of tubular parts in the radial direction, and the difference between the pressures of the inert gas in the container and the vacuum in the process gap in the telescopic joint.

EFFECT: high-quality mechanical adhesion of cylindrical surfaces in the process of diffusion welding.
