FIELD: medicine, oncology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to predict resistance to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer. In breast tumor biopsies stained immunohistochemically using antibodies to PD-L1 and Snail, the expression of PD-L1 and Snail is assessed. The absence of expression is estimated as 1 point, mild expression is estimated as 2 points and pronounced expression is estimated as 3 points. The expression coefficients of PD-L1 and Snail are determined, calculated in five fields of view according to the formula: the proportion of cells without expression × 1 + proportion of cells with weak expression × 2 + proportion of cells with pronounced expression × 3/5. With a combination of PD-L1 expression coefficient >1.78 and Snail expression coefficient <2.14, the development of resistance to chemotherapy is predicted.
EFFECT: method provides the ability to predict resistance to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer by determining the expression coefficients of PD-L1 and Snail in five fields of view using the original calculation formula.
