SUBSTANCE: invention relates to portable devices for determining the viscosity properties of fluids, in particular liquids. The claimed device for measuring the viscosity of liquids is characterized in that it is mounted on the wall of the container with the liquid under study using a bracket, on which the stimulator of the lever movement is fixed, which makes low-amplitude pulses setting in motion an activator fixed on the lever through the hinge, which generates a linear wave in the liquid and is made in the form of a rectangular shell, above which there is an infrared system, consisting of an emitter and a receiver of reflected radiation connected to the measuring device. In this case, the emitter emits a light beam with a wavelength of 900-1100 nm, and the light beam has the shape of a plane oriented perpendicular to the wave propagation on the liquid surface.

EFFECT: simplified design of a device for measuring the viscosity of a liquid while maintaining the accuracy of measurements and ensuring the portability of the device.
